  NOTE: This trip is a follow-up from the fall trip which was (mostly) rained out due to hurricane weather. As such, the golf fee is NOT included as most of those attendees still have 2-days of rain checks. If you did not attend October's trip, we invite you to join us at this wonderful lodge for fantastic golfing, however, you will have to pay for your golf fee as the golf fee is not included in this price. Golf fees can be found here and can be paid at the course. Golfers who attended the October outing can use their rain checks - don't forget them!

  Return to Cacapon Resort State Park which boasts an eighteen-hole Robert Trent Jones designed course located within 20 minutes of Berkeley Springs and a mere 2 hours from DC. The trip includes 2 days of play at the course which offers 6,827 yards of golf for a par of 72. The course rating is 72.6 with a slope rating of 126.

  We’ll be staying at the newest lodge in the West Virginia State Parks system, Cacapon Resort’s 120-room luxury lodge sits at the foot of Cacapon Mountain. With indoor and outdoor dining, a spa, indoor swimming pool and hot tub, fitness center and a view of the park’s golf course, it is the perfect place for adventurers to wind down. The lodge offers a relaxed setting complete with a lounge, TV, board games, fireplace, and cozy furniture. Additionally, the state park offers horseback riding and a wobble clay shooting range and is located only 20 minutes from 2 hike/bike trails located in Hancock, MD – the C&O Canal Towpath and Western Maryland Rail Trail.

  Additional night stay, $130 per night and paid separately and directly to the hotel.

  We will be staying in the Quality Inn in Bedford. right off the turnpike with a deluxe continental breakfast included and an outdoor pool.

  Included in the price will be two nights lodging (continental breakfast included) and three rounds of golf. On Tuesday afternoon we will play the course at Down River. On Wednesday we will play at Iron Masters and on Thursday we play  King Valley. 
  You might want to come in on Monday and / or leave Friday and play the Elks Club
  9 hole course... real cheap ($15). Great golf warm-up or rap-up.

  Directions:  Take the Beltway to I 270 north. In Frederick exit onto I 70 and follow to Breezewood, PA. Then take the PA Turnpike west to the next exit. Approximately 20 miles to the Bedford exit. After exiting turn left at the light after the toll booth and the Quality Inn is up the hill on your left.

  For NON GOLFERS - A WEEKEND GETAWAY: Local historic sites such as Fort Bedford Museum, colonial Old Bedford Village, National Museum of the American Hand-Woven Coverlet, covered bridges/gravity hill driving tour, plus antique shops and flea markets in the Bedford area. The 9/11 memorial in Shanksville is not far away.

  Join us for a mid-week golf trip to Wintergreen Resort. Spanning 11,000 acres on the eastern slopes of the Blue Ridge Mountains, their spacious condominiums and vacation homes are surrounded by winding trails cascading streams and awe-inspiring views. Wintergreen is peaceful and refreshing, with a variety of activities including golf, pickleball and tennis. The resort features 40,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor space and an award-winning culinary team as well as a spa. The Devils Knob Golf course is approximately 4,000 feet above sea level and is 12 to 18 degrees cooler than the bottom of the Mountain. There are several restaurants to choose from fine dining to pizza. I have looked at the menus and several restaurants cater to vegetarians.

  
  

  
  

  We are staying 2 nights, Monday and Tuesday and playing golf Tuesday and Wednesday. Two rounds of golf are included in the room/ condo price. If you would like to play golf on Monday, the day of arrival, there will be an additional cost.

  Some participants will be staying in the Lodge' couples and participants with roommates may sign up for this option. There is a kitchenette in most rooms. (A few rooms have a full kitchen, but there is no guarantee). There is also a living room area in the lodge rooms. The loft bedrooms are upstairs.

  There are also options to stay in a 3-bedroom condo, 3 full baths with 4 participants, or a 3- bedroom condo, 3 full baths with 3 participants. The 3-bedroom condos have a room with a king bed, a room with a queen bed and a room with 2 single beds.  Credit card payments only.

  The  Shenvalee Golf Resort Just up the interstate in New Market has always been known as a destination of its own. Offering three challenging nine hole loops, we will play the “Creek Course” which is a picturesque 9-hole course with Smith Creek winding throughout and the  “Miller Course” which is a local favorite!     
  

  Lake View Golf Club has three distinct nines and is one of the anchor courses in this region. We will play the most challenging of the nine-hole loops, the Mountain Nine where several water hazards and dramatic elevation changes come into play set against the beautiful Massanutten Mountain backdrop and the Lake Nine which  features several ponds.                           
  
  Caverns Country Club high above the banks of the Shenandoah river; the gently rolling fairways seem to touch the mountains with beautiful vistas of nearby farmlands. If you are a fan of golf with a view, you cannot go wrong here.

  Join us for a Fall golf getaway to South Central Pennsylvania. The outing includes two rounds of golf and two nights lodging at the Best Western in historic downtown Gettysburg, conveniently located near shops and restaurants. On Thursday September 18 we will play The Bridges Golf Club and on Friday September 19 we will play Carroll Valley. Both are picturesque, well-maintained courses suitable for all levels of golfers. Non-golfers who wish to explore Gettysburg are also welcome.  

  OPTIONAL: Add a round on Wednesday, September 17 at South Hills Golf Club in Hanover, PA. If interested, contact Greg and he will procure tee times. Weekday greens fees for Seniors at South Hills currently are $30. Payment at the course.
