On the website, your email address is your Membership ID. This is a significant change from prior procedures, but also important, as so much of our member communications, payment transactions, and event registration uses automated emails as a key functional element. ALSO, some couples with Family memberships have registered the same email address for both members. If this is the case, it may be difficult for both members to register for an event.
Your website Password is created as part of the membership application process, is completely secure, and cannot be viewed or updated by anyone but you. Again, after your initial login, please use the CHANGE PASSWORD to update your Profile. To access your Profile, click on your name shown in the upper right hand corner of the Home page.
We previously did not record your middle name in the membership database. However, Federal regulations now require that we submit full legal names for all passengers on our ski flight trips, or any other events that involve air transportation. Adding your middle name to the membership database as an optional field will simplify our event administration and paperwork.
The membership database offers many features to ensure the privacy of our members' personal data. For example, members' email addresses are considered to be private, and the website provides users with the ability to communicate with each other by email, without exposing any email addresses. Each member can edit their Profile to decide what data fields should be kept private, such as birth date and street address, and which ones can be made public. We do capture postal zip code so that we can track the geographical distribution of our membership.
Our website offers very powerful event management tools that will simplify trip leader responsibilities, reduce paperwork to a minimum, and standardize financial management of our events. For most events that have an admission fee, participants will be able to register online in advance, and will then receive an automated confirmation email. Most events will allow participants to pay immediately online with a credit card, or to pay later by check. Automated payment verification emails and/or payment invoices will be sent to the participant.. All financial transactions are recorded on the website, with a complete audit trail.
