  Resort:
  Aptly nicknamed "The Big One," Jackson Hole has some of the most challenging skiing in all of North America. Despite its deserved hard-core reputation, there are plenty of intermediate runs off the Bridger Gondola, and a base area quad lift, Eagle’s Rest, whisks beginners to the mid-mountain Solitude Station Learning Center. And the old Thunder lift, a pinch point for traffic, has been replaced this season with a new high-speed quad that cuts the ride time nearly in half. Piste Bistro, set at the top of the Bridger Gondola is the on-mountain lunch stop with its fireplaces and floor-to-ceiling window views. Both Teton Village and the nearby town of Jackson offer a ton of honky tonk après-ski diversions (the Million Dollar Cowboy Bar is legendary) as well as seriously good dining options.
  

  While the resort’s base at Teton Village is a lively scene, the town of Jackson, 12 miles away, has an après ski life of its own, from champagne-popping oyster bars to dives reminiscent of the Jackson Hole valley a century ago.

  Mountain:
  Jackson Hole Mountain Resort has 2,500 skiable acres inbound, and a further 3,000 of backcountry for advanced skiers to explore. The summit elevation is 10,450 ft., with a base elevation of 6,311 ft. There are 16 lifts at Jackson, including a 100-person aerial tram, two gondolas and 11 chairlifts, accommodating 16,733 people an hour on the resort’s lift system. There is no night skiing at Jackson Hole, though there is tubing both at Kings Tubes in Jackson and at the Ice Castle in Teton Village at the base of the resort. There is also ice skating in Jackson’s town square, with ice skate rentals available.

  Voted number 6 by Ski Magazine readers for Western Ski Resorts. Whitefish Mountain has over 3,000 acres of skiable terrain ranging from blue groomers, glades, steeps, and chutes. Start the day on a long blue groomer aptly titled "Inspiration" take in the views of Glacier National Park and the valley. If you are looking for more blues stay on the front side or head to the Northside. If you want some thigh burning steeps, glades, or chutes, Hellroaring Basin is for you. Don't miss the skiing in the North Bowl. For fans of Terrain Parks, there are four featuring boxes, rails, and jumps. Additionally, there is a Skier/Boarder cross course known as the Goat Haunt with banked turns, jumps and rollers. There is plenty to keep eveyone busy for the typical ski week and longer. With short to no lift lines, everyone will rack up the vertical feet.   You also might see a Snow Ghost. What's new since our last trip and will add to the experience: Whitefish’s first high-speed six-pack, the Snow Ghost Express, will run from the base to the top of Inspiration Ridge, replacing the circa-1978 Chair 4 and cutting the ride time to the upper mountain down to seven minutes. Plus: Chair 8 moved to a higher spot on the slopes to facilitate opening it earlier in the season. It also serves six new trails in Hellroaring Basin, bumping the resort’s total number of runs from 105 to 111.

  SCWDC will be staying at The Lodge at Whitefish Lake, Montana's only AAA four Diamond Resort. It is nestled between majestic mountains, pristine waters, and the Viking Creek Wetland Preserves.   100% genuine West Virginia snow!! Great skiing and boarding begins with great snow, and with a peak elevation of 4,280 ft.  Canaan Valley Ski Resort offers an 850 ft. vertical drop, longest run at 6,000 feet, 39 slopes, and 150” of annual snowfall, along with the beauty of a West Virginia ski resort.

  This SPE (Ski/Snowboard Performance Enhancement) Weekend includes three days of skiing and/or boarding. By popular demand, there is again a two- night option available for those who want to ski/board only on Saturday and Sunday. All participants will receive two half-day small group lessons at Canaan Valley Resort with the Club's ski school volunteers. Our PSIA/AASI certified instructors will help you achieve your goals, whether you have never skied before or are an expert looking to refine your technique. Ski School instructors are volunteers, so gratuities are graciously accepted. Three-night participants will ski/board at the uncrowded Timberline on Monday. Participants who are 70 and older receive a free lift ticket at Canaan Valley!

  Resort:
  Park City Mountain is now owned by Vail Resorts and is connected to Canyons by a new gondola.  Vail has a long-term lease at the Canyons.  The combined areas make it the largest U.S. ski resort with over 7,300 skiable acres, 300+ trails, 38 lifts, seven terrain parks, 14 bowls, six natural half-pipes, a super half-pipe and a mini-half pipe.  There is a base area at both Park City and Canyons with restaurants, ski shops, rental shops, etc.  There is free bus service to both base areas of Park City Mountain as well as Deer Valley.  Park City honors the EPIC ski pass, while Deer Valley honors 5 days of skiing w/ the IKON ski pass. The Club is not selling lift tickets for either resort. 

  Mountains:
   Park City Mountain Resort offers something for everyone with extended glade terrain, upgraded on-mountain restaurants, expanded beginner terrain, and a ski-and-snowboard park. Enjoy the deep powder bowls, long groomed runs, gentle beginner slopes, steep chutes, and three world-class terrain parks. Park City now include Canyons, Utah's largest area with 16 lifts (seven are high-speed), boasts 3,500 skiable acres with 106 trails and eight peaks.   Calling all Cross Country Skiers  For CC Skiing, this is the place to go. Park City has been a haven for cross-country skiers for decades, combining the benefits of aerobic exercise with the tranquility of the Rocky Mountains. Park City offers a wide variety of options from groomed trails, complete with classic tracks, or more rustic touring trails in the nearby mountains.

  Snowbird ski resort is an amazing playground for skiers, especially those who love the light, dry Wasatch powder that averages about 500 inches annually.  Alta, its neighbor resort, also averages about 500 inches thanks to ideal topography and a phenomenon called "Lake Effect”. The two resorts are interconnected.

Great skiing and boarding begin with great snow, and with a peak elevation of 4,280 ft.  Canaan Valley Ski Resort  offers an 850 ft. vertical drop, longest run at 6,000 feet, 39 slopes, and 150” of annual snowfall, along with the beauty of a West Virginia ski resort.

  This SPE (Ski/Snowboard Performance Enhancement) Weekend includes three days of skiing and/or boarding. This year, there is again a two- night option available for those who want to ski/board only on Saturday and Sunday. All participants will receive two half-day small group lessons at Canaan Valley Resort with the Club's ski school volunteers. Our PSIA/AASI certified instructors will help you achieve your goals, whether you have never skied before or are an expert looking to refine your technique. Three-night participants will ski/board at Timberline on Monday. Ski School instructors are volunteers, so gratuities are graciously accepted.   Resort:
  Beaver Creek is just 10 miles from Vail and is, well, as smart as you can get! Beaver Creek is a fascinating resort in the evolution of the global ski industry. It has many claims to fame, most  notably that, having opened as recently as 1980, it's one of the "youngest" of the world's ski areas. As a result of its modern evolution, it is also sometimes described as being "the first resort to be designed by computer" (and if so, it's a good argument in favor of computers!)

  The slopes are served by high speed chairlifts and it's rare that you have to queue. The  slopes cover a huge area from Bachelor Gulch and Arrowhead (purchased and added to the resort in 1993) to Spruce Saddle plus a whole new area for beginners. Enjoy skiing over 2, 082 acres on 167 runs, more than enough to keep any skier happy for a week.

  Beaver Creek is a high altitude resort, with a summit elevation of 11, 440 ft. and a vertical rise of 3,340 ft. it is serviced by 25 lifts including 2 gondolas. The slopes are suitable for all levels, from beginners to advanced, as well as terrain parks for every skiing a boarding level. It is definitely one of Colorado's most family friendly resorts
  

  The nearby town of Avon, accessible to the base of Bachelor Gulch via Chondola, has  lodging/restaurants if what your are looking for in Beaver Creek Village doesn't have enough variety for you. There is also a Beaver Creek Resort shuttle service that is available if your ski legs just can't make that extra walk to dinner.

  The village is pedestrian friendly and swamped up with up-market beautiful hotels, restaurants, condos, heated pavements and pedestrian escalators - obviously! And don't forget the three o'clock chocolate chip cookies that are waiting for you when you ski down at the end of the day.

  Resort:

  Spend a week with us at the legendary ski paradise that is Taos Ski Valley. Situated in the Sangre de Cristo mountains of New Mexico, the area is completely bounded by the pristine Carson National Forest. The European atmosphere and architecture of the resort is due to the ski area's European pioneers, and an amalgamation of German, French, Austrian and Swiss residents and employees combined with the local Native American and Spanish cultures.   Resort: Located about fifty miles south of Bozeman, MT, Big Sky offers 5,850 acres of skiable terrain, and 4,350 feet vertical drop.

  The resort offers some of the best expert and advanced terrain around while including an extensive network of trails suited for the intermediate and beginner skier or snowboarder. The resort is the base camp to Yellowstone National Park and provides daily shuttles to Yellowstone’s west entrance. Big Sky has everything one would expect from a modern ski resort including a variety of dining, lodging, and shopping possibilities.

  Big Sky Mountain is known for its massive terrain and an annual snowfall average of 400 inches.  There are 4 mountains with seamless access due to 38 lifts and more than 300 runs, including the new Lone Peak Tram, which will open in time for the 2023/24 ski season. No lift lines means more vertical if your legs can handle it. There is an excellent mix of beginner (15%), intermediate (25%), advanced (42%), and expert (18%). Experts often head immediately to the Lone Peak Tram for skiing as close as you can get to Heli-skiing without the chopper.   Kitzbuhel's brightly colored houses and cobbled streets are extremely picturesque. It’s certainly one of the most beautiful ski resorts in Europe. Its winding, cobblestone medieval streets are packed with sports cars and upscale boutiques as Europe's glitterati descend on these hallowed slopes. It is also, Austria's most luxurious ski resort, ritzy Kitzbühel, known as "Kitz," basks between the Hahnenkamm and Kitzbüheler Horn mountains.   Aspen (Ajax) Mountain packs a big punch in its 675 acres. It has 76 trails packed into a narrow area that has a vertical drop of 3,267 ft (996m).  Aspen Mountain has no beginner runs at all, and is well known for the many blue cruisers for strong intermediates, and the black diamond steeps and bumps. The terrain split is 48% intermediate, 26% advanced, and 26% expert.  Beginners head to Buttermilk.
  

  Snowmass has come into its own. It is not only a cruiser’s paradise, but in the Hanging Valley area where inbound back country skiing is permitted, there are enough “cornices, glades, cliffs, bumps, and jumps to make an X-Games producer swallow his cell phone.” Skiers won’t be bored with over 3,300 acres and a 12,510 foot summit that offers a major vertical rise.

  Aspen Highlands' major asset is the Western Slope weather that produces beautiful powder during the night and gorgeous blue-sky days to ski it.  The resort is noted for its "superbly efficient lift system". Yet, this mountain is uncrowded with fewer skiers than nearby Buttermilk. Buttermilk, well known for its family programs and learning center, is a haven for intermediate skiers and boarders looking for groomers!
