SCWDC's Travel Program organizes and oversees group travel experiences to destinations worldwide. We work with several travel partners and tour operators to offer a variety of travel opportunities. While our Sailing, Sports, and Tennis Programs also offer travel events, the Travel Program focuses on non-skiing events that require air travel.
Getaway Trips involve trips to exotic locales and exclusive resorts, as well as ocean and river cruises. We follow the sun and fly you to warmer climates during our fall, winter or late spring months. We have special business relationships with Club Med, Overseas Adventure Travel, and Viking Cruises, as well as with favored tour operators.
In the last several years, we have run "Bike and Barge" trips to the Netherlands, Belgium, and Germany.
Winter Events: Many of our ski, snowboard and X-country events also offer off-slope adventure activities. A good example is our February 2022 trip to the Alyeska ski resort in Alaska.
Leaders Needed: Our Travel Chair is Yingwen Prince a long-time member, past SCWDC Director, skier, tennis player, and sports enthusiast. Yingwen would like to talk to members interested in expanding the number of Travel events, and/or becoming leaders in various events.
SCWDC has an exclusive travel partnership with Club Med, and we have been very successful with both our ski trips and our tropical vacation getaways.
OVERSEAS ADVENTURE TRAVEL (O.A.T.):
O.A.T. is SCWDC's newest travel partner. They are a perfect fit for SCWDC because they specialize in small groups, solo travelers, and boutique adventure vacations on land, rivers and seas. In October 2023, we are offering a lifetime to visit ancient Egypt in the time of the Pharaohs and the Pyramids, a cruise down the Nile River, and Egypt as it is today. See trip details.
