Resort:

Beaver Creek is just 10 miles from Vail and is as "chic" as you can get! Beaver Creek is a fascinating resort undergoing the evolution of the global ski industry. It has many claims to fame, most notably that it opened recently in 1980 and is one of the "youngest" of the world's ski areas. As a result of its modern evolution, it is also sometimes described as "the first resort to be designed by computer" (and if so, it's a good argument in favor of computers!)

The village is pedestrian-friendly and swamped with beautiful up-market hotels, restaurants, condos, heated pavements, and pedestrian escalators - obviously! And don't forget the three o'clock chocolate chip cookies waiting for you when you ski down at the end of the day.

Discover Beaver Creek

The Mountain:

High-speed chairlifts serve the slopes, and you rarely have to wait long. The slopes cover a vast area from Bachelor Gulch and Arrowhead to Spruce Saddle, plus a whole new area for beginners. Enjoy skiing over 2,082 acres on 167 runs, more than enough to keep any skier happy for a week.

Beaver Creek is a high-altitude resort with a summit elevation of 11,440 ft., a base elevation of 8.100 ft., and a vertical rise of 3,340 ft. 25 lifts, including two gondolas, service the slopes. The ski runs and terrain parks suit all levels, from beginners to advanced, with 28% beginner, 38% Intermediate, and 34% advanced. It is one of Colorado's most family-friendly resorts.

The nearby town of Avon, accessible to the base of Bachelor Gulch via Chondola, also offers many lodging options and restaurants. If your ski legs are too tired to walk to dinner, a Beaver Creek Resort shuttle service is available.

With your Epic Pass, you can also access Vail, Breckenridge, and Keystone (you'll need to check for transportation options).
