Resort:
Whitefish, Montana, is known for its small-town hospitality, which you will feel from when you arrive until you leave. It's a genuine small town with unique restaurants, breweries, shops, and galleries located on the shores of Whitefish Lake, surrounded by scenic mountains. Whitefish Mountain Resort is just a short distance from town. It's an old-school Montana skier's mountain with no crowds, lift lines, pretensions, or high price tags. If a city and a mountain aren't enough, Glacier National Park is just 30 minutes away. If skiing or boarding is not your thing, you can snowshoe, cross-country ski, go dog-sledding, ice fishing, snowmobiling, fat tire bike riding, or take a sleigh ride. So if you are a laid-back, serious skier or snowboarder, beginner, intermediate, or expert who hates crowds, likes genuine people, and wants value...Whitefish is for you.

Video introduction to Whitefish
Whitefish is the Heart of a Winter Paradise
Voted number 6 by Ski Magazine readers for Western Ski Resorts. Whitefish Mountain has over 3,000 acres of skiable terrain ranging from blue groomers, glades, steeps, and chutes. Start the day on a long blue groomer aptly titled "Inspiration" take in the views of Glacier National Park and the valley. If you want more blues, stay on the front side or head to the Northside. If you wish for some thigh-burning steeps, glades, or chutes, Hellroaring Basin is for you. Don't miss the skiing in the North Bowl. For fans of Terrain Parks, there are four featuring boxes, rails, and jumps. Additionally, there is a Skier/Boarder cross course known as the Goat Haunt with banked turns, jumps, and rollers. There is plenty to keep everyone busy for the typical ski week and longer. With short to no lift lines, everyone will rack up the vertical feet. You also might see a Snow Ghost.
What's up for 2026: Whitefish Mountain Resort has several ongoing and future expansion plans, including the Canyon Creek Expansion Project, which will add nearly 2,000 acres of terrain. This project involves a phased approach with the first phase including new chairlifts (heated bubble chairs) and a freestyle terrain park, followed by a steakhouse and country music venue. Additional plans include expanding beginner areas, adding new conveyor carpets
