Resort:

Spend a week with us at the legendary ski paradise that is Taos Ski Valley. Situated in the Sangre de Cristo mountains of New Mexico, the area is completely bounded by the pristine Carson National Forest. The European atmosphere and architecture of the resort is due to the ski area's European pioneers, and an amalgamation of German, French, Austrian and Swiss residents and employees combined with the local Native American and Spanish cultures. Don't forget a visit to the historic town of Taos a short 30-minute ride away featuring boutiques shopping and a plethora of world class restaurants, with many featuring Southwestern cuisine.  

Mountain:
Founded by Ski School Director Ernie Blake, Taos is one of the very few family-owned and operated ski areas in the U.S. It offers a rare combination of high altitude (9000' base), high snowfall (over 300" annually, mostly dry powder), and sunshine (300+ days a year). The resort rarely has any lift lines and boasts the top-rated Ski School in North America. The mountain is cozy, with 2,600 ft vertical, 1,300 skiable acres of terrain, 110 trails, and 13 lifts. Terrain is almost evenly split between beginner/intermediate (49%) and advanced/expert (51%).  Taos Ski Valley honors the IKON ski pass, which can be purchased through our friends at SKI.COM.

Lodging: 

We'll be staying at the Snakedance Condos, located adjacent to the main lift in 2-bedroom units. According to Ski Magazine, "Taos remains one of the great purists'' resorts of North America, and features some of the best high-altitude free-skiing anywhere". • Roundtrip Air on United - Feb 15, 2025: Depart Reagan National (DCA) @ 8:15am. Arrive Albuquerque, NM (ABQ) via Houston (IAH) @ 1:31pm

  Feb 22, 2025:  Depart Albuquerque, NM (ABQ) @ 12:50pm.  Arrive Reagan National (DCA) via Chicago (ORD) @ 11:51pm. (Flight times are subject to change.) 

• Ground transportation to and from the airport and lodging, including grocery stop and baggage handling
• Seven nights ski-in/ski-out lodging at the Snakedance Condos in 2-BR condos, ski lockers

• Group dinner at General Manager's house
• Complimentary fleece ski vest for each participant
• 6-day "Ski Better" Ski Week; 3 hours per day guided lessons

• Single Supplement: add $998 - Trip Leader will advise availability.  Please complete, sign, and return the Single Supplement Acknowledgement Form to the trip leader.       
• Ground Only:  deduct $572 - available after group air minimums are met.  Please complete, sign, and return the Ground Only Acknowledgement Form to the trip leader.

Note: Trip prices are subject to change due to airline, resort, exchange rate (International trips) and other factors. We continue to work towards lower airline rates in the current market. Price increases or decreases will be reflected in the final invoice.

Lift Tickets:

• IKON Pass are available for purchase from our tour operator, and receive a trip rebate, (ski.com), or through IKON Pass.  For your consideration:
  • Please read the terms and conditions of the pass product(s) you're considering carefully before buying including blackout dates on the Base Pass and Base Plus Pass.  Your Ikon Pass product, once purchased, is non-transferable and non-refundable.  Please consider trip insurance to cover your Ikon Pass cost.
  • Ikon Pass products are subject to future price increases until purchased.  Buy early to lock in your price.
  • Special passes for Nurses, Military, and College students must be purchased directly from Ikon.
  • IKON Base and Base Plus passes are blacked out on February 15 and 16, 2025.  An optional 1 day group ticket is available for purchase.  
• Group lift tickets for non-IKON Pass holders, or IKON Pass holders needing Feb 16.

Cancellation Fees:
A $50 cancellation applies for any cancellations prior to 10/15/24.  Afterwards, the participant will also be responsible for any unrecoverable expenses, including 3% credit card transaction fees on applicable payments. 

Payment Schedule (per person):
$500 deposit is due w/ registration. Remaining balance is due on October 15, 2024, and may be paid by credit card or check.  Please mail payment check to SCWDC, 5309 Langston Boulevard, Arlington, VA 22207.  Do NOT mail payment check to the trip leader.
