Trip Overview

Our trip is a 16-day adventure starting with 4 days in Cairo seeing both ancient and modern Egypt including the Egyptian museum, medieval Cairo, and Sakkara and Memphis. We then fly to Luxor and board our QAT ship, the Nefertiti, a 75 passenger small ship for our cruise down the Nile River. Our 7-day cruise includes stops in Luxor, Qena, and Aswan to give you a first-hand look at the ancient Egyptian treasures along the Nile. Our trip ends with a flight back to Cairo and 3 final days visiting the Sphinx, the Pyramids, and Old Cairo. 

We’re also offering more adventures with an 8-day Pre-Trip option to Israel & Jordan for only $2,595 additional cost. This trip has stops in Jerusalem, Masada & the Dead Sea, Petra & Amman and departs 10/4/2023.

• Call Overseas Adventure Travel Reservations at 800-955-1925. Open Monday – Saturday 9am-7pm EST. Provide our group code G3-29494 to OAT book agent. 
• Tell the Travel Counselor that you would like to book Ancient Egypt and the Nile River trip for October 12, 2023.  Let them know if you want to reserve pre-trip extension and our group airfare, or different air accommodations, etc.
• Decide on the type of room you want – you must specify either twin or double since rooms on the Nefertiti do not convert. Prices for accommodations vary slightly depending on the ship deck you choose.
• You will need to set up an OAT account for processing payment, notifications from OAT, etc.
• Determine the level of trip insurance that you want. See Trip Insurance details below for further information
• After signing up with OAT, please let the SCWDC trip leader Beverly Ashcraft know you’ve signed up. 
• O.A.T. Payment Schedule
• The required deposit for this adventure is $500 per person.  Deposits can be made by check, bank withdrawal or credit card (American Express not accepted). Final payment is due 90 days prior to departure.

O.A.T. Cancellation Policy

Trip Insurance:

If you want to purchase medical/reparation or cancellation insurance, email or call Travel Protectors, LLC at myra@travelprotectors.com or telephone 703-443-9055. You will need to provide Myra the following information: Full name/s, Home address/es, Date/s of birth, Departure date from home, Return date home, Primary destination, Trip cost per person, Date you put down your very first trip deposit with the club and best phone number to reach you. You must contact Myra directly; do not send your premium payment to SCWDC.  You also have the option to buy cancellation insurance directly from OAT or you may purchase your own insurance. NOTE THAT ANY CANCEL FOR ANY REASON COVERAGE YOU PURCHASE MUST BE FINALIZED WITHIN 14 DAYS FROM WHEN YOU PAY YOUR FIRST TRIP DEPOSIT.
