November 12, 10 a.m. This time of year demands a hike in the mountains to enjoy the leaves and the crisp autumn air. Let's do the four-mile Corbin Cabin Loop. It's steep and a little challenging, but it's time to get in shape for skiing. The Corbin Cabin Loop hike trail head is located at the Nicholson Hollow Trail head, mile 37.9 on Skyline Drive. The beginning of the Little Stony Man Cliffs hike is here too. https://www.nps.gov/shen/nicholson-hollow.htm Distance: 4-mile circuit Difficulty: moderate Duration: 3 hours Elevation Gain: 1,348- feet Details: We'll meet at Corbin Cabin Parking area at 10 a.m. Please be prompt. We'll pause for lunch at noon, and snacks along the way. Please be sure to bring plenty of water and an extra bit of food just in case. We finish at 2 p.m., with an option to hike Little Stony Man Cliffs after. (Another 4 miles and moderately strenuous, but great views. If you plan to continue, bring a flashlight just in case, extra food and water.) Rain cancels.
