Let's Explore the National Arboretum--4-mile hike
Haven't you always wanted to hike the Arboretum? In the autumn? Well here is your chance. 

Please join me at noon on Sunday, October 15. We'll meet at the R Street gate off Bladensburg Road. Free parking is just inside the gate. Do not enter the New York Avenue address into a GPS system, as it will lead you to a locked gate. For GPS, use 2400 R St. NE.
We'll hike at a brisk pace as this is a fairly short walk. We'll see all kinds of trees and plantings, all displaying their autumn best.
Please bring adequate water and snacks. We will take a couple breaks but will not eat lunch. Heavy rain cancels. Light rain--we walk.

The closest Metrorail subway stop is Stadium Armory Station on the Blue and Orange lines. Transfer to the B2 Metrobus; disembark the bus on Bladensburg Road at Rand Street, just past the Arboretum sign on the right. Walk back to sign at R Street and walk down R Street 2 blocks to Arboretum entrance.
