TRIP PRICE: $1,749* (lift tickets extra)
Park City Mountain is now owned by Vail and is connected to Canyons by a new gondola. The combined areas make it the largest U.S. ski resort with over 7,300 skiable acres, 300+ trails, 38 lifts, seven terrain parks, 14 bowls, six natural half-pipes, a super half-pipe and a mini-half pipe. There is a base area at both Park City and Canyons with restaurants, ski shops, rental shops, etc. There is free bus service to both base areas of Park City Mountain as well as Deer Valley.
Park City Mountain Resort offers something for everyone with extended glade terrain, upgraded on-mountain restaurants, expanded beginner terrain, and a ski-and-snowboard park. Enjoy the deep powder bowls, long groomed runs, gentle beginner slopes, steep chutes, and three world-class terrain parks.
The Canyons, now Utah's largest area with 16 lifts (seven are high-speed), boasts 3,500 skiable acres with 106 trails and eight peaks. You'll relish groomed boulevards, glade steeps, and undulating meadows. The area offers Vail-scale terrain, plenty of off-slope diversions, and few crowds, but little of the Vail glitz.
Deer Valley sets itself apart from other resorts by offering visitors a truly world-class experience. The ski resort is known for meticulously groomed beginner and intermediate runs, glades, moguls and bowls. The mountain receives around 300 inches of snowfall per season and is complemented by a massive snow-making infrastructure. No snowboards allowed, though.
We are staying at the full-service Doubletree by Hilton Park City Hotel (formerly the Yarrow), less than five minutes from historic Main Street. Most rooms in this hotel face the Wasatch Mountains, with breathtaking views of the ski resorts. There are plenty of amenities, including a year round outdoor heated pool and whirlpool. Dining at the Roots Grill, full bar service in the Vertical Lounge
