@ Auld Shebeen Restaurant in Fairfax
This year we are hosting our Annual Election & Awards meeting and party at the Auld Shebeen Irish Pub and Restaurant. This will provide our Club with another social activity for us to get together. As part of this event, we will be conducting our annual election of the Club's President and Directors as well as acknowledging our volunteers who have contributed their time and efforts to Club activities and events. Appetizers will be provided. Soft drinks, Irish beer and other adult beverages will be available for purchase at the private bar. SCWDC members attend FREE; non-member guest fee is only $10/pp. WE ASK THAT EVERYONE SIGN UP IN ADVANCE SO WE CAN DECIDE THE AMOUNT OF APPETIZERS TO ORDER AS WELL AS TO HAVE ENOUGH BARTENDERS TO SERVICE REQUESTS.

About 70-100 members and guests attend. Our President strives to keep this a fun event for everyone, so the business meeting will be as short as possible IMPORTAN: WE PLAN TO START ON TIME, 7:00PM AND CANDIDATE SPEECHES WILL BEGIN SHORTLY THEREAFTER. PLEASE DO YOUR BEST TO LEAVE EARLY FOR THE MEETING, ALLOWING FOR TRAFFIC DELAYS AND NAVIGATING TO ONE OF THE TWO GARAGE ENTRANCES, THEN THE 5 MINUTE WALK FROM THE GARAGE TO THE RESTAURANT. BELOW ARE DETAILS ABOUT THE NEARBY PARKING GARAGE. THE CITY OF FAIRFAX AND ESPECIALLY CHAIN BRIDGE ROAD TRAFFIC ARE REALLY HEAVY IN THE 5:00PM-8:00PM HOUR.
About the food and refreshments: SCWDC will provide appetizers. Water is provided. A cash bar is available in the room for purchases of soft drinks and adult beverages. Some members arrive early to eat in the restaurant, with many reasonable $ appetizers and entree choices.

Location & Directions: Auld Shebeen Irish Pub3971 Chain Bridge Rd, Fairfax, VA 22030 (703) 293-9600
The Auld Shebeen is at the corner of North St and Chain Bridge. It is marked as a "Fairfax" address in the City of Fairfax.
There is an outside entrance/ramp to the side of the front door that will take you directly into the party room, called "The Cellar" i.e., below the restaurant dining area. If you enter by the front door, you will be directed to a stairway.
Free Parking after 5PM is near the restaurant in a three-story parking garage ("Old Town Plaza Fairfax Public Parking") with entrances off Rt 123 and University Drive. FYI, THERE IS NO DEDICATED RESTAURANT PARKING AND LIMITED ON-STREET PARKING. SEE THE MAP HERE PLEASE NOTE ON THE MAP, THAT THE "PARKING GARAGE CITY OF FAIRFAX REGIONAL LIBRARY" IS NOT THE PARKING GARAGE YOU WANT. THE GARAGE YOU WANT IS DIRECTLY ACROSS NORTH ST FROM THE RESTAURANT, ABOUT 75 YARDS, BUT THE "OUTLINE" OF THIS GARAGE IS NOT CLEARLY MARKED.
Using University Drive to enter garage: address is 3950 University Drive, Enter the above address into your smart-phone driving app. Entrance is visible from University Drive. With heavy traffic on Chain Bridge, this is the best entrance to use. Coming in this way, go up the ramp to park on the upper floor and walk out to the other entrance/exit which fronts on Chain Bridge. Go out this way to Chain Bridge, turn left, cross North St. and proceed to the restaurant. If you walk out from the same entrance that you came in, you'll be on University Drive, turn right and walk 40 yards to North St., cross over and walk along North St. to the Auld Shebeen.
Using Rt 123 to enter garage: address is 3925 Chain Bridge Rd to use in a smart-phone app. The entrance is located down a long driveway between two buildings and can be easy to miss. the parking garage sign is very small, placed on a building. Once parked, exit out the same way that you came in, turn left, cross over North St. and proceed to the restaurant. Chain Bridge Rd is a very busy street, be careful.

Location: Columbia Island Marina, Arlington, VA
Time: Our bike Ride will start at 1:45pm from the Columbia Island Marina.

We will leave from the Marina Parking lot and pick up the trail under the GW parkway bridge to the Mt. Vernon Trail. Cross over Memorial bridge down to Ohio Drive. We will pick up the Rock Creek trail to Thompson's Boat house where we'll detour to pick up the Capital Crescent trail by the Waterfront. Follow Capital Crescent to the Bethesda then loop back the way we came. Approximately 20 miles.

Picnic Details:
SCWDC Picnic will be at the Island Time Bar & Grill, Columbia Island Marina, Arlington, VA, just off of the George Washington Memorial Parkway (south bound toward Mount Vernon). Our event space is outdoors, under a covered patio deck. There are also picnic tables on a grassy expanse. Details soon!
