Resort:
Located off the beaten path, Crested Butte is known for some of the best lift-served extreme terrain in the nation but with plenty to offer beginners and intermediate skiers. Home to quirky costume events and our friendly vibe, Crested Butte is a place you want to add to your bucket list.
Crested Butte is one of the few places that can still be called a real Colorado ski town. When you walk around town, you’ll feel it in the unparalleled views and the meticulously preserved false-front buildings reminiscent of its mining days. Buses into the town of Crested Butte run every 15 minutes from 7:10 AM to midnight. Visit the shops, restaurants and soak in the ambiance.
There are no traffic lights, no chain stores and no high-rise buildings. Yet you’ll quickly see there’s no shortage of entertainment and dining options, all run by some of the most welcoming people you’ll ever meet.
If you are not a skier or snowboarder, there are still a plethora of activities for you to enjoy as well- surrounded by 1.7 million acres of National Forest, you can snowshoe, fat bike, and cross country ski, right out your front door in any direction.

Mountain:
As the birthplace of inbounds extreme terrain, our mountain promises to feed your appetite for challenge and captivate your heart. Home to 2,700 vertical feet and 1,500 acres, quirky costume events like the Al Johnson Memorial Telemark Race, and the freedom to be who you are (not what's expected). There is also plenty of skiing for beginners and intermediates.
New in 2021/2022: We all aspire to do big things. If your big thing means one day slashing turns in Crested Butte’s world-renowned Extreme Limits terrain, Peachtree Lift will help you get there. It’s your stepping stone to the steeps, a new, three-person fixed-grip lift serving beginner terrain at the base of the resort. The new lift will increase uphill capacity by 50 percent, resulting in quicker access to the mountain and relief to nearby learning areas. Peachtree’s location adjacent to the Aspen and Pine conveyor lifts is the ideal spot for skiers and riders just learning the sport to enhance their skills and progress into terrain accessed by a chairlift.
The benefits don’t stop there. The project included grading of terrain to create a more consistent pitch across the entire slope, allowing beginners to focus on the fundamentals. After all, learning to ski or ride should be both fun and easy.
Nordic/Cross Country Skiing
The Crested Butte Nordic Center offers over 50 km of professionally groomed trails through meadows, forests, and foothills. Perfect for both classic and skate skiing—rentals, lessons, and guided tours available.
