Resort:
Located at the southern tip of the Rocky Mountains in Northern New Mexico, Taos Ski Valley is a world-famous destination for riders and skiers of all ability levels. Taos is primarily known for its steeps but offers beginner & intermediate trails off the top of every single chair lift. For the advanced to expert skier/rider Taos offers some of the most challenging and varied terrain in the country, especially off its hike-to ridges. The family vibe is also embodied in the quaint village of Taos Ski Valley. There are several dining options, all nearby. If you are looking for more than skiing/riding check out the historic town of Taos just 18 miles down the road for a true vacation destination.
Mountain:
Founded by Ski School Director Ernie Blake, Taos is one of the very few family-owned and operated ski areas in the U.S. It offers a rare combination of high altitude (9000' base), high snowfall (over 300" annually, mostly dry powder), and sunshine (300+ days a year). The resort rarely has any lift lines and boasts the top-rated Ski School in North America. The mountain is cozy, with 2,600 ft vertical, 1,300 skiable acres of terrain, 110 trails, and 13 lifts. Terrain is almost evenly split between beginner/intermediate (49%) and advanced/expert (51%). Taos Ski Valley honors the IKON ski pass, which can be purchased through our friends at SKI.COM.
Lodging:
We'll be staying at the Snakedance Condos, located adjacent to the main lift, in 2-bedroom units. The cozy base area features many dining options, including the Hondo restaurant located in the Snakedance. Base Trip pricing includes the 6-day "Ski Better Ski Week" BUT DOES NOT include Lift Tickets. Please see the optional Group Lift Ticket pricing. Visit the Taos resort website for more resort information.
