Get Back to the Slopes! It's Party time! Skiers/Snowboarders, Non-Skiers, Dogs & Kids ... You are all invited!

Hey there, winter and snow enthusiasts! Are you ready to dive into the excitement of the upcoming ski season? Or have you already taken the plunge and secured your spot for an epic SCWDC ski vacation? Well, kudos to you! But here's the real deal – you're cordially invited to crank up the excitement, get into that ski vibes and the call of the snow-covered slopes at our 6th Annual Back to the Slopes Party!

Bring along your loved ones – friends, family, and even your four-legged pals – for a fun filled afternoon, filled with good vibes, delectable treats, and a chance to win some delightful prizes. Just remember, you've got to be there, got to be present to win!

Meet our SCWDC ski trip leaders to discuss their trip. Peruse their ski trip display and flyers. Visit with our ski industry friends and checkout their displays, exhibits, and offerings. Mingle with your ski trip buddies. If you're already registered for a SCWDC 2024-2025 ski or travel adventure, meet your trip leader and your fellow trip participants. Learn about the club's many upcoming events.

The top raffle door prize is a Club Med 7-night land-only vacation for 2 at one of Club Med's North America destination: Club Med Punta Cana/ Dominican Republic or Club Med Miches / Dominican Republic or Club Med Ixtapa Pacific / Mexico or Club Med La Caravelle / Guadeloupe. The next top prize is a 24/25 season Indy Base Pass to 200+ ski resorts. Many other raffle prizes - must be present to win!

• Directions & Parking: No nearby street parking. Use free parking & free shuttle bus service to and from Shipgarten. Optionally, arrive by Metro at the McLean Station, and take a brief walk to Shipgarten.
• Online Registration closes: Saturday September 14 at 11:30 pm. Onsite day of event registration is $15.

Back to the Slopes Party will be at the Shipgarten (the updated version of the former Tysons Biergarten, same owner). Our event space is outdoors, in our own private corner of the expansive grassy patio, under a private 900 sq. ft. Special Events Tent. There are picnic tables with umbrellas too.. We'll provide Heavy Hors d'oeuvres, buffet style. As usual, there will be raffle prizes.

For fun and games, there are various lawn games. For dog owners, bring your pooch and enjoy the Dog Park (the shuttle bus even has doggy treats). For families with kids in tow, there is a Kids Playground. Situated on a hill top, we will get a gentle breeze and a wonderful skyline view of the McLean/Tysons cityscape.

If in the event we exceed our food budget, or you are hanging out late for the Shipgarten After Dark where one of D.C.'s best D.J.'s, Bianca Diamond to set the vibe for their nightclub from 8:00pm and goes to 2:00am, there are 4 different food and drink concepts you can order from. Each "concept" is separately housed in former 40' shipping containers (hence the "ship" in Shipgarten name). The four food and drink concepts are Tysons Biergarten, RollBär, Salamati Grille, and Waffles & Tacos. Vegetarian and omnivore friendly.

We will be inviting some of our ski industry friends to exhibit their products and services, just like at ski resort's Ski Demo Day, to generate a ski season vibe. All the details have not been worked out yet but be prepared to be surprised at this fun members’ event.  Check the weekly SkiGram for ski industry friends who will be attending BTTS as we get closer to Sunday, September 15. 

It’s coming! Do a snow dance, but please don't do the rain dance! Think snow! Time to break out your winter gear and begin charting your winter adventures for the season ahead! Get ready for some slope time. That’s right, it’s time to get BACK TO THE SLOPES!
