Kitzbuhel's brightly colored houses and cobbled streets are extremely picturesque. It’s certainly one of the most beautiful ski resorts in EuropeIts winding, cobblestone medieval streets are packed with sports cars and upscale boutiques as Europe's glitterati descend on these hallowed slopes. It is alsoAustria's most luxurious ski resort, ritzy Kitzbühel, known as "Kitz," basks between the Hahnenkamm and Kitzbüheler Horn mountains. There are some interesting art galleries, luxury stores selling designer ski wear and Austrian traditional costumes and the all important Austrian coffee shops for a slice of sacher torte. The Aquarena swimming pool and wellness centre is a popular destination for those who desire a change from skiing.

Mountain:

Skiing in Kitzbühel is a dream! With perfectly groomed slopes, a state-of-the-art lift system, and 145 miles of slopes, every skier will leave with a full heart. In addition to the world-famous Hahnenkamm Streif racecourse, a total of 57 lifts facilitate fun on the slopes for beginners and professionals alike. 60 huts and mountain restaurants, each one unique, entice travelers with culinary delights in the midst of an exquisite mountain panorama. Also available are Tobogganing, winter hiking and cross country skiing.

Skiing Kitzbuhel

When the first Hahnenkamm race was held in Kitzbühel in 1931, no one could have even imagined that it would lay the foundation for one of the world's biggest winter sports events. Over the decades, both the downhill on the Streif and the slalom on the Ganslernhang have developed into classics in the Ski World Cup. For many athletes, a victory on one of the two tradition-rich slopes is tantamount to an Olympic victory. Be sure to check out this famous slope.
