**Small Group Trip,  contact Trip Leader: RUTH D'ALESSANDRO

Thanks to our enthusiastic trip leader, our tour operator, the Plumpjack Inn and Squaw Valley, this trip is proceeding as a small group trip. The trip did not meet group lodging/airline minimums and therefore has been restructured to be small group. It is still possible to join this trip as ground only or with individual airline tickets. To join the trip, contact the trip leader to make arrangements. Destination and lodging dates will be the same, Airline and ground transfers will be tailored to individual travelers.

Resort:
Squaw Valley earned its reputation as a world class ski resort hosting the 1960 Olympics. Skiing operations sprawl across 6 peaks with views of Lake Tahoe located about 10 miles away. Squaw Valley boasts 4,000 acres and combined with 2,400 acres at Alpine Meadows, a short shuttle ride away, it is one of the largest resorts in North America. Check out the High Camp uniquely situated on the top of the mountain. The village is host to numerous restaurants and shops, a luxury spa, ice skating, and more. Want a day off, head to the charming and historic town of Truckee to enjoy lunch, visit a brewery, or shop for unique and local artisan crafts.

Mountain:
Arriving at Squaw Valley, its easy to be intimidated by the steeps rising from the village.  While there is plenty of expert terrain, don't be turned away because there is plenty of skiing for everyone.  All you experts not afraid to show off head to the Palisades Chutes aka "Squallywood" where numerous ski movies have been filmed, take a run and get cheered on by those riding the lifts. Intermediate skiers will love the uncrowded Squaw Creek lift for the impeccably groomed runs all the way down to the valley and spectacular views of Lake Tahoe.  Beginners look no further than Big Blue area, which also hosts beginner and intermediate terrain parks, or visit Alpine Meadows. Alpine Meadows also has awesome bowls that are perfect for fans of powder skiing on a snow day.
