Hike: Turkey Run Park – Saturday, April 11, 2026
Leader Linda Voss, (703) 867-1817 inklings2002@gmail.com
Casual hike Saturday, April 11 10 AM - 12 PM. We will hike down along the Potomac river to witness the cacophony of wildflowers, including a carpet of Bluebells along the river. (weather will determine how close we are to the peak Bluebells bloom.) The hike is about 40 minutes out and 40 minutes back, including flower identification. We will pause at a waterfall before turning back. Good time for snacks or exploring the trails that continue from the falls. Some elevation and two creek crossings involved. Children are encouraged and well-behaved dogs on a leash are allowed.
Meet at the parking lot trailhead to Turkey Run Park. Exit off the George Washington Memorial Parkway past the National Park Headquarters exit outbound in Virginia. After exiting, take the right to Turkey Run and the first left to the first parking lot for the trailhead. There may be other groups there for the wildflowers.
