This ride starts on the Capital Crest trail and goes through a Bethesda/Chevy Chase neighborhood for 2 miles to pick up Beach Drive. Beach Drive is closed on weekends to thru traffic. Park traffic is allowed on some of the segments, but they go slow and there are not many cars. Back side of the loop goes by Pierce Mill and the Smithsonian National Zoo on Rock Creek Bike Trail and thru Georgetown’s Waterfront where we pick up the Capitol Crest trail to return to Fletchers.
We’ll stop at the Georgetown Waterfront for lunch at Guapo's Mexican restaurant then peddle the 3 miles back to Fletchers. For those who don’t want lunch - you can park in Georgetown and meet us at Fletchers OR do the 3 miles on your own (head down Water Street on the Capitol Crest Trail to Fletchers Cove).
