Come join us for our annual July party and picnic.  It will be held at the Carderock Recreation Area, about one mile Northwest (outside) of the beltway on the Clara Barton Parkway, just across the American Legion Bridge in Maryland.  Enjoy a beautiful summer afternoon and evening. (If the weather is not so beautiful, come anyway, as we will be under a large covered pavilion.)  Come early and enjoy the beverages and avoid the traffic. We will provide water, soft drinks, beer and wine, and a barbecue of hamburgers and hot dogs. (Wine and beer are permitted in the pavilion area only.)  We will also have games, music, and of course, fun.  

Best of all, this is a free event!  To help us determine how much food to buy, please register here.

We will start serving beverages at 3:00, and the barbecue at 4:00.  We must be cleaned up and out of the park by dark.

1. From I-495 in Virginia, take Exit 41 (Carderock/Glen Echo) toward Great Falls/Carderock onto the Clara Barton Parkway, immediately after crossing the American Legion Bridge

1a. From Maryland, take Exit 41 onto the Clara Barton Parkway toward Great Falls/Carderock

2. Merge onto the Clara Barton Pkwy and continue 1 mile to the Carderock exit.  The sign says Naval Surface War Center on the right and Carderock Park on the left.

3. Take the Carderock exit and at the stop sign, turn left to cross over the Clara Barton Pkwy. Follow the road until you reach a second stop sign.

4. Turn left for parking lot “A”  and the restrooms. (The pavilion is located between parking lot "A" and "B".)
