ONE OPENING FOR SINGLE FEMALE

This trip coincides with the Sundance Film Festival, the premier showcase of contemporary US and international independent film. Due to impending lodging restrictions, this may the last year we will be able to offer this trip.

Participants will create and purchase their own customized lift package, deciding where and when they ski for up to 6 days, so that they may enjoy the festival along with some of Utah's best powder, fueled by the average 370" annual snowfall. There is the option of staying Monday-Monday or Monday-Sunday (limited number of spaces).

Deer Valley is known for its exceptional customer service, consistent grooming, and attention to every detail.  It emphasizes quality over quantity.  Daily skier limits (no snowboarders) result in short lift lines to access the four peaks spread over 1,750 acres, with 88 trails and six bowls.  However, during the Sundance FF, there are so many movie people in town, that there are few skiers on the DV slopes.

Park City Mountain Resort offers something for everyone with extended glade terrain, upgraded on-mountain restaurants, expanded beginner terrain, and a ski-and-snowboard park. Enjoy the deep powder bowls, long groomed runs, gentle beginner slopes, steep chutes, and three world-class terrain parks.  The mountain offers 3,100 ft vertical, 3,300 skiable acres of terrain, 114 trails, and 16 lifts.  Terrain is 17% beginner, 52% intermediate, and 31% advanced/expert.

The Canyons, now Utah's largest area with 16 lifts (seven are high-speed), boasts 3,500 skiable acres with 106 trails and eight peaks. You'll relish groomed boulevards, glade steeps, and undulating meadows.  The area offers Vail-scale terrain, plenty of off-slope diversions, and few crowds, but little of the Vail glitz.  Vail Resorts has purchased the rights to Park City and The Canyon slopes, and has built a gondola which connects these two ski areas.  The gondola opened December 18.  The Canyons is now included in the term, "Park City Mountain."

We are staying at the Park City Peaks Hotel where most rooms face either the Wasatch Mountains with views of the ski area or have a balcony with views of the mountains. This hotel is just minutes away from the 3 World Class Ski Resorts and 3 Olympic Venues. There is an Indoor/Outdoor heated swimming pool, hot tubs and sauna. All rooms have hair dryers, coffee makers, refrigerator, & cable TV.

The address of the Park City Peaks Hotel is 2346 Park Avenue, Park City 84060, which is about 1.5 miles from the downtown Main Street.   Free shuttles take skiers to the ski areas and to the Sundance movie venues.  Park City ski base is about 10 minutes away.

SCWDC does not buy any movie tickets, this is an individual's choice.  Visit the Sundance Film Festival Web site, "Get Tickets" to get updated 2016 ticket buying advice. Expensive Passes and Ticket Packages went on in October and some are still available.  Individual tickets go on sale, January 19. The festival runs from January 21 to January 31.  Because SCWDC's trip starts on January 25 and most of us are in town on January 31, we have the opportunity to view the "Best of Show" movies.
