TRIP PRICE: $1,630 (w/o Lift tickets) Nearly Empty slopes by day, movies at night
TRIP LEADER: LISA KILDAY
Join us on this very popular ski destination. We are repeating a visit this year during the Sundance Film Festival, when the slopes are exceptionally empty! Enjoy the same skiing experience on all three venues at a much lower price: Park City, Deer Valley, and Sundance Ski Resort.
Park City Mountain is now owned by Vail and is connected to Canyons by a new gondola. Vail has a long-term lease at the Canyons. The combined areas make it the largest U.S. ski resort with over 7,300 skiable acres, 300+ trails, 38 lifts, seven terrain parks, 14 bowls, six natural half-pipes, a super half-pipe and a mini-half pipe. There is a base area at both Park City and Canyons with restaurants, ski shops, rental shops, etc. There is free bus service to both base areas of Park City Mountain as well as Deer Valley. Park City honors the EPIC ski pass, while Deer Valley honors 5 days of skiing w/ the IKON ski pass.
Park City Mountain Resort offers something for everyone with extended glade terrain, upgraded on-mountain restaurants, expanded beginner terrain, and a ski-and-snowboard park. Enjoy the deep powder bowls, long groomed runs, gentle beginner slopes, steep chutes, and three world-class terrain parks.
The Canyons, now Utah's largest area with 16 lifts (seven are high-speed), boasts 3,500 skiable acres with 106 trails and eight peaks. You'll relish groomed boulevards, glade steeps, and undulating meadows. The area offers Vail-scale terrain, plenty of off-slope diversions, and few crowds, but little of the Vail glitz.
Deer Valley offers luxurious amenities such as ski valets, groomed-to-perfection slopes (sorry, no snowboarders allowed), and gourmet dining in three elegant day lodges.
Sundance Ski Resort, created by Robert Redford, offers skiing and snowboarding (2,150' vertical, 450+ acres), cross-country skiing and snowshoeing (miles of daily groomed trails, both classic and skating), ski and snowboard school, Winter Zipline (Utah's longest, 2,100' drop), Sundance Film Festival movies, fine dining, Art Studio, and more.
Surrounded by 8,000 foot mountains, the 4 diamond/4 star full service Zermatt Resort is located just 11 minutes’ drive from Deer Valley and 18 minutes to Park City, accessible by their complimentary hotel ski shuttle. With over 300 Swiss-inspired guest rooms and condos, amenities include a full service spa, indoor-outdoor pool, hot tubs, 2 restaurants, bar and award winning Swiss bakery. In the evenings, take the free hotel shuttle to the history village of Midway or Heber where you will find wonderful, quirky little shops and reasonably priced local restaurants. Comfortable hotel rooms with a choice of either 2 Queen or 1 King bed, many with microwave and fridge. Two Bedroom, two-bathroom condominiums feature 1 King in master, 2nd bedroom with 2 Queen beds, living room with sofa bed and full kitchen.
